In West Virginia, anyone under 18 years old MUST have Parent/Guardian consent on-site at the time of tattoo with a copy of the Birth Certificate or documentation proving guardianship and age verification. No exceptions.
We at Stella Tattoo require any underage minor to be at least 16 years of age to be tattooed, with the consent of their Parent/Guardian. While the state of West Virginia does not specifically state an age requirement for tattoos with parental consent, our shop has set this as our age limit. In addition, we will not tattoo faces or necks on any minor.

Pre-Tattoo tips: We recommend eating a good meal before your appointment and staying hydrated. If you start to feel lightheaded, a soda can help - sugar is your friend in this situation. It's also best to avoid heavy drinking the night before, as alcohol can increase bleeding for up to 24 hours. Excessive bleeding can dilute the pigments, affecting both the appearance of your tattoo and the healing process.
Stay calm and relaxed—you’re in good hands!

Remove bandage after 2-4 hours. Gently wash tattoo with mild soap and warm water. Pat dry. Apply thin layer of Eucerine or Aquaphor ointment. Keep washing and applying for 5-7 days.
Reapply ointment 2-3 times daily whenever tattoo appears to be dry or flaking. This will prevent a thick scab from forming. Apply a small amount of ointment; too much may cause a rash or slow down the healing process.
After 5-7 days, switch to Lubriderm or any mild fragrance-free skin cream. Continue to keep moist until dry wrinkly look goes away. Gently wash the tattoo daily and reapply moisturizer when needed.
Follow directions until tattoo is healed (10-14 days). Failure to do so can jeopardize the healing process and cause loss of clarity and brightness in your tattoo.
